The Centre has chosen Amitabh Bachchan to serve as brand ambassador of GST and help promote the revolutionary tax reform among the country’s citizens. A video featuring the veteran actor has already been made and is presently being circulated on various multi and social media platforms.
In the video, the actor compares the effect of GST with the tricolour of the national flag as a unifying force to create ‘One Nation, One Tax, One Market’. Earlier, badminton star P.V. Sindhu was serving as the GST brand ambassador.
GST will be rolled-out on July 1, 2017 and is going full steam ahead of its implementation. GST will help unravel a multitude of taxes by subsuming them. A total of 17 central and state taxes will be subsumed such as VAT, Central Sales Tax, Service Tax, Entry tax, entertainment tax and more when GST roll-out takes place.
