GST: Food grains, Veggies, Milk to be Cheaper by up to 5%

Everyday Foodstuffs to be Cheaper post GST

The Government states that everyday items such as food grains, vegetables, milk, fruits, and flour will become inexpensive by as much as 5 per cent once GST is implemented in the country.

Several items like raw silk, wool, jute, puffed rice, salt, fire wood, milk, vegetables and fruits, hand-operated agriculture equipment organic manure and animal feed will be zero-rated post GST rollout.

Though, branded food grains and flour having registered trade mark would attract levy of 5% GST.
