Post GST Roll-out: LPG; Daily Use Items to Become Cheaper

LPG to Become Inexpensive Post GST

LPG and daily use products such as notebooks, incense sticks, aluminium foils, insulin and several other items are set to become cheaper under the new GST regime when it gets implemented from July 1 onwards.

In the present tax regime, several different taxes such as central excise duty rates, VAT rates, cascading of VAT over excise duty and tax incidence on account of CST, Octroi, Entry Tax, and others are levied on goods.

A few of the items where GST incidence would be lower compared to the present tax rate are tea, groundnut oil, palm oil, sunflower oil, wheat, curd, butter milk, cheese, unbranded natural honey, milk powder, spices, rice, noodles, fruit and vegetable items, and flour.

GST would be lower for other items as well like coconut oil, mustard oil, sugar, murabba, chutney, sweetmeat, spaghetti, macaroni, pasta, pickle, ketchup and sauces.
